Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy – Level 3
- Anatomy and physiology for sports massage
- Clinical issues – safe treatment, sports massage regulation, professionalism and ethics, continuing professional development and communication skills
- Sports massage techniques including palpation, basic strokes, neuromuscular and muscle energy techniques and soft tissue release
- Assessment of clients, joint and muscle testing, assessment of posture, profiling and appropriate record keeping
- Soft tissue damage and repair – injury occurrence and treatment
- Post-care advice – supporting clients’ return to function
Diploma in Exercise Referral
- Instructing exercise with referred patients
- Professional practice for exercise referral instructors

Study Options
Mostly Online:
- Gym – Online (Theory online, then attend 1 Training Day and 1 Assessment Day)
- Personal Trainer – Online (Theory online, then attend 2 Training Days and 1 Assessment Day)
- Sports Massage – Intensive (Classroom attendance – Monday-Friday for 3 weeks)
- Exercise Referral – Online (Theory online, then attend 1 Training Day and 1 Assessment Day)
You will be prompted to book your attendance days once you have started the last theory section in each of the courses within your student desktop.
Mostly Intensive:
- Gym – Intensive (Classroom attendance – Mondy-Friday for 2 weeks)
- Personal Trainer – Intensive (Classroom attendance – Monday-Friday for 3 weeks)
- Sports Massage -Intensive (Classroom attendance – Monday-Friday for 3 weeks)
- Exercise Referral – Online (Theory online, then attend 1 Training Day and 1 Assessment Day)

- Over 16 years of age with experience of using a Gym
Certification
- Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Fitness (QCF)
- Entry onto REPs register
